Starting off as rivals on optimists, Malo and Anatole soon discovered their joint potential on a 2-man dinghy, the 29er. In 2016, they participated in their first world Championships in Medemblik, Netherlands. They came back to Europe for more the following years, achieving 15th position at the European Championships on their home waters in Quiberon, France in 2017. The same year they were selected to represent Hong Kong at the Youth World Championships in Sanya, China. This was their first ever selective event.

Every summer holiday they would travel abroad for championships. During the year, Malo and Anatole sailed mainly in Hong Kong, occasionally traveling in Asia or Australia. They competed in 2 other Youth World Championships in America and Poland, 2 world championships and a European Championship.

Today, Malo and Anatole have been accepted into the French Youth sailing team. From September onwards, they will be sailing together for France on the 49er, the Olympic skiff class, with the same goal they have had since they started sailing together: to reach the Olympics.

I first set foot on a dinghy when I was 9 years old, when I signed up for the optimist course level 1 at the Aberdeen Boat Club (ABC) in Hong Kong. I remember picking up the basics rather quickly and having a lot of fun discovering this new sport.

After representing the Aberdeen Optimist racing team for 3 years, my opponent became my teammate as we embarked on our newly-found shared passion: the 29er. We soon got hooked, and started competing at world-class events for 4 consecutive years.

After the European championships in 2019, I left Hong Kong for France as I had decided to represent the French 29er team. Leaving my birthplace and home of 16 years was a tough decision, but it taught me many skills, all worth implementing in my future endeavors.

Like many sailors, I learned to sail on an Optimist. This class was certainly fundamental in the development of my passion and commitment to sailing.
It was towards my final years of Optimist, when I got to know Malo that I realised just how magical this sport was.

In September 2019, I had just finished the European Championships in Italy, the last 29er regatta before Malo's departure.
So I explored new classes, including Etchells, J105 and Waszp on which I could maintain and expand my racing knowledge.
I then joined Eloi Defline, an outstanding 420 helmsman, to finish my 29er adventure at the World and European Championships in the summer of 2021.

In September 2020, I entered the Ecole Centrale d'Electronique, an engineering school in Paris offering a sports program.
It was during this first year of intense studies that I joined the French 49er sailing team, alongside Malo.
From September 2021, I will therefore combine Olympic sailing and engineering studies. With the same objective in mind: to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games.
